Auto-Authorize - When auto-authorization is turned on, the ILL requesting side does not have to manually authorize requests. The first time a request is submitted it is automatically Auto Mediated , Authorized and sent to the first potential responder in the Rota configuration becoming a request in the Pending status.
Auto-complete - Requests are gone from the requesting or responding results lists when the actions of "Checked In," "Answer Non-Supply," "Complete," or "Received" for Copy Non-Returnable are used.
Automediation - The process that creates a string of responding libraries, called the Rota. This is done prior to manually authorizing the request. The system will automatically check the service level for the user, mandatory fields (author, title), and remote catalogs for the item. It automatically constructs the Rota. If the request is authenticated and a Rota built, it will automatically authorize and send the request to the first library on the Rota.
Borrowing - Requests from your library to other libraries. Your library is the Requester.
Client - In the VDX system this can be the patron or the requesting library. The patron is also referred to as the User and the Requester (not to be confused with the borrowing library as Requester). The Requester button will change to Client in a later release of the software.
Check Manual - An authorization status that indicates a request was made for an item that your library owns; there were no libraries built into the Rota; or, there is another problem with you request.
ISO 10160 - Is the standard that determines the Interlibrary Loan application service definitions that ensure consistent language for interlibrary loan requesting and lending transactions.
ISO 10161 - Is the standard that permits the exchange of ILL messages among ILL systems even if they use different hardware and software.
ISO ILL compliant - The ILL system can communicate with other ISO ILL compliant systems.
